The fees, in plain English.
Institutions access MCDS free through their peak-body membership. The fees on this page apply to commercial partners — vendors, implementation partners, and education partners. Tier is determined by the number of personnel within scope, on publicly available information.
01 Vendor Licence
For software vendors. Worldwide territory.
The Vendor Licence covers worldwide use of the standard within your product. Founding Vendor status is available at the formative stage and recognises early commercial backers who fund the neutrality of the standard.

Annual fees are adjusted on each Renewal Term in accordance with CPI (clause 6.3 of the Vendor Licence). Vendor Tier is determined by MCDS based on publicly available information for vendor size at the start of each Initial Term or Renewal Term.
02 Implementation Partner Licence
For consultancies and systems integrators.
Region-scoped. Right to use the MCDS Logo with clients. Tier is set by the number of personnel within the licensed Territory.

03 Education Partner Licence
For educational service providers.
For educational providers operating alongside or atop institutional infrastructure who want to align their data layer with MCDS. Institutions access MCDS free through peak-body membership; the Education Partner Licence covers commercial education providers.

04 The fine print, summarised
What every licence has in common.
Term
Annual, with renewal.
Initial Term begins when the licence fee is paid. Renewal Terms apply on each anniversary unless the licence is terminated.Invoicing

MortarCAPS may verify alignment through reasonable, business-hours audit. Audit costs sit with MortarCAPS unless a material breach is found.
